We hope you are well and continuing to take precautions against COVID. We were very saddened to have had to cancel our recent production of Edward Albee’s play, Three Tall Women. Hopefully, you were able to attend and enjoy this season’s productions of Ayad Akhtar’s play Disgraced and August Wilson’s Radio Golf. Over the past few months, our founders, President Hal Freed, and Artistic Director Laurie Freed, have taken time to review our accomplishments as we pursued our mission of producing quality professional theatre and educational programs that entertain the senses, engage the mind, and touch the heart. Hal and Laurie are proud of the many wonderful shows and programs that were produced and are gratified by the reception that you, our audience, gave them. They feel we have made a significant contribution to our community. Hal and Laurie are now looking forward to their own future and have decided that now is the time to step aside, retire, and enjoy the remaining years in travel and with their family. Peace Mountain Theatre Company is a small organization; although it has accomplished a lot over a short time, the loss of Hal and Laurie means it is time to bring down the curtain. We want to thank all of you, not only for attending our shows, but for your generous support as Friends of Peace Mountain Theatre Company, through donations, and as consultants and volunteers. We could not have done it without you. We also want to thank the Montgomery County Arts and Humanities Commission and the Maryland State Arts Commission for their financial support. Please support these organizations. Their efforts, and those of others, bring about an amazing array of cultural opportunities that make this area such a wonderful place to live. And so, it is time to say good-bye and thanks from the Board of Directors of Peace Mountain Theatre Company, with best wishes to all for a wonderful future filled with theatre.
