Cathleen Gallagher, J.D.
Cathleen Gallagher is the facilitator for this panel discussion. She is a corporate and non-profit attorney in private practice and previously clerked at the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, DC. “Cat” received an undergraduate degree from Boston University and her J.D. from Catholic University. She lives in Bethesda, has two children, ages 10 and 12, and also serves as Secretary on the Peace Mountain Theatre Company Board of Directors.
AnneMarie Smith, Ed.D.
Panel member AnneMarie Smith is the Principal of North Bethesda Middle School in Montgomery County, MD. She holds a B.A. in French and Political Science from Dickinson College, a Master’s in Secondary Education from Vanderbilt University, and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from George Washington University. Prior to becoming a principal, Dr. Smith served as a French teacher, department chair, team leader, content specialist, and assistant principal in several middle schools in Montgomery County. Her dissertation was a case study providing an understanding of the unique organizational structures and school culture designed to contribute to students’ academic and behavioral success.
David Mathison, M.D.
Dr. David Mathison is a pediatric emergency physician and Vice-President of Clinical Operations for PM Pediatrics in Rockville, MD. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and graduated magna cum laude from Emory University with a degree in Economics. Dr. Mathison also has an M.B.A. from George Washington University. Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, he served as the medical director of the Children’s National Hospital pediatric emergency transport team and as a faculty member in the Emergency Department. Dr. Mathison is the co-chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Provisional Section on Pediatric Urgent Care Medicine and the Pediatrics editor for the Journal of Urgent Care Medicine.
