Peace Mountain Theater
Peace Mountain Theatre Company (PMTC) is a small, intimate professional theatre company serving Montgomery County and the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.
To produce quality theatrical productions and educational programs that entertain the senses, engage the mind, and touch the heart.
Equity, diversity and inclusion are inherent in our operation and we adhere to the ADA.
We are a theatre with a purpose.
PMTC’s programs are selected not only to present plays of enduring quality, but to address societal issues relevant to the community.
Our full-length shows are chosen from the American canon ranging from classics such as Arthur Miller’s All My Sons to contemporary, such as Jon Robin Baitz’s Other Desert Cities. Matinee performances are followed by panel discussions delving more deeply into issues and/or moral dilemmas faced by the protagonists in the play.
Our Educational Outreach Programs take the form of short one-act plays or readings followed by a question-and-answer session led by members of an expert panel. The plays are performed by young people from the community. Topics that we have covered in recent years include bullying, the opioid crisis, and cyber risk to our children.
PMTC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. We fund our programs through ticket sales, program ads, contributions, fundraising, and grants. Our fundraising arm, Friends of Peace Mountain Theatre Company, is a multi-level annual membership program providing a means for theatre lovers to demonstrate their appreciation and support through financial commitments.
We are greatly appreciative of grants from the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County and the Maryland State Arts Council.
It goes without saying that we welcome all contributions whether dollars or time. If you love the theatre and want to help make PMTC successful, consider volunteering your time and lending a hand [link to Volunteers tab]. Whether backstage, ticketing, refreshments, marketing, or fundraising, opportunities abound.
And finally, to all our supporters, thank you for helping Peace Mountain Theatre Company continue to grow.
